Revival Sports’ Fathimath Nabaha Abdul Razzaq (Naba) and Aminath Nabeeha Abdul Razzaq (Naby) have advanced to the women’s doubles quarter-finals at the Hellas International 2026 in Greece, marking the second time the Maldivian pair have reached the last eight of a European BWF Circuit tournament.
The twin sisters also reached the quarter-finals at a tournament in Italy earlier this year.
Naba and Naby secured their place in the quarter-finals with a straight-games victory over Bulgarian pair G. Pavlova and T. Pavlova in the round of 16, winning 21–15, 21–15. They will now face Danish pair Jonassen and Viscovich for a place in the semi-finals.
The result is a notable achievement for the Revival Sports pair as they continue to gain experience and build their presence on the European badminton circuit.
In mixed doubles, Nibal Ahmed and Naby also progressed to the round of 16 after defeating J. Casaru and Abela 21–11, 21–9 in the opening knockout round. However, the Maldivian pair were unable to advance further, losing to German duo Zhang and Stomel 21–14, 21–12 in the round of 16.
Revival Sports also recorded progress in men’s doubles, with Hussein Zayan Shaheed Zaki (Zayan Zaki) and Nibal reaching the round of 16. The pair began their campaign with a convincing 21–16, 21–6 victory over Greek players Kapoukranidis and Polizoakis. Their run ended in the next round, where they lost 21–16, 21–13 to Turkish pair G. Gol and M. Seven.
In men’s singles, Hassan Zayan Mohamed was eliminated in the qualifying rounds after losing 21–8, 21–7 to Bulgarian player Ruptsov. Zayan Zaki and Naba also competed in mixed doubles but were defeated 21–9, 21–9 by Portuguese pair David Silva and Marta Sousa.

The five athletes making the trip are Zayan Zaki, Nibal Ahmed, Hassan Zayan Mohamed, Naba and Naby. Their participation across the three tournaments provides opportunities to test themselves against international opposition and gain valuable competitive experience.
