Revival Sports Set for Major Presence as Badminton Association Championship Returns

Revival Sports is set to make a significant impact at the returning Badminton Association of Maldives Championship, with a combined squad of athletes from its academy, high-performance programme, under-23 setup, and Revival Sports Eydhafushi Academy competing across multiple age categories and open events.

The championship, which officially began yesterday, marks the return of Badminton Association activities after more than two years, bringing renewed excitement to the domestic badminton calendar and offering a major competitive platform for emerging and elite players alike.

A total of 27 athletes from the Revival Sports Badminton Academy are taking part in the junior divisions, with participation spread across boys’ and girls’ singles and doubles events from Under-9 up to Under-19 categories.

The academy delegation includes 16 male athletes and 11 female athletes, reflecting the club’s continued investment in both grassroots and youth development.

The academy’s young talents will compete in a wide range of categories, including Under-9, Under-11, Under-13, Under-15, Under-17 and Under-19 singles competitions, while several players will also feature in doubles events.

The squad includes promising athletes such as Evan Ahmed Shamin, Kaisan Luke Fiyaz, Kaira Wasiu, Yoon Ali Azuham, Fathimath Shaana Shakeel and Romana Abdul Kader, alongside several other developing players from the club’s junior structure.

Revival Sports Eydhafushi will also field seven athletes in the competition, all competing in boys’ divisions ranging from Under-9 to Under-19, while some players are also entered into the Open Men’s events.

Among the athletes representing the Eydhafushi programme are Yoosuf Alaf Bin Rilwan, Risham Abdul Fathah, Awf Bin Fazloon and Yoosuf Zeek Zuhan.

In the senior categories, Revival Sports’ High Performance and Under-23 squads will feature 12 athletes competing in Open Men’s Singles, Open Men’s Doubles, Open Women’s Singles, Open Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles events.

The squad combines experienced national players with emerging talents, including Nibal Ahmed, Hussein Zayan Shaheed Zaki, Haisham Ibrahim Ali, Mohamed Khalaf Imraan, Hoodh Bin Hamid, Ayyoob Azhar Mohamed, Fathimath Nabaha Abdul Razzaq and Aminath Nabeeha Abdul Razzaq.

The large-scale participation underlines Revival Sports’ growing influence in Maldivian badminton and highlights the club’s structured pathway from grassroots development to elite-level competition.

With athletes represented across nearly every division of the championship, the club continues to position itself as one of the leading institutions focused on nurturing badminton talent in the Maldives.
